Free PSTAR practice Regulations – Canadian Airspace

When operating in accordance with VFR, aircraft shall be flown

  1. Aclear of aerodrome traffic zones.
  2. Bclear of control zones.
  3. Cwith visual reference to the surface.Correct answer
  4. Din compliance with all of the above.

Why this is the answer

The defining condition of VFR flight under CAR 602.114/602.115 is operating with visual reference to the surface. VFR aircraft aren't categorically barred from control zones or aerodrome traffic zones (you may enter with clearance/communication), so 'operated with visual reference to the surface' is the only universally true statement.
