Free PSTAR practice Pilot Responsibilities

Before setting out on any VFR flight, a pilot is required to

  1. Aread all weather reports received from stations within 100 miles of destination.
  2. Bfile a flight itinerary.
  3. Cbe familiar with all available information appropriate to the flight.Correct answer
  4. Dobtain an ATC clearance.

Why this is the answer

Per CAR 602.71, before any flight the pilot-in-command must be familiar with all available information appropriate to that flight. Reading only nearby weather, filing an itinerary, or obtaining a clearance are narrower acts, not this general duty.
