Free PSTAR practice Flight Plans and Itineraries

If a flight plan is not filed, a flight itinerary must be filed

  1. Afor flights proceeding 25 NM or more from the point of origin.Correct answer
  2. Bonly for flights in sparsely settled areas.
  3. Cfor flights destined to land at aerodromes or places other than the point of origin.
  4. Dfor all flights.

Why this is the answer

Per CAR 602.73, a VFR flight plan or itinerary must be filed unless the flight stays within 25 NM of the departure aerodrome — so any flight going 25 NM or more from the point of origin requires one. The trigger is distance from departure, not destination or terrain.
